Foxy Fridays: Date Night Look

“Makeup is a powerful way to effectively reveal something unique about your inner self.”

It’s actually been a while since the husband and I had a date night.

We don’t like leaving little Aria with a sitter and his mom is all the way in LA. So every time we go out, we carry the little monkey bear with us. It’s fun though. We love having her around all the time. But there really are times when you and your husband just need to have one night to act like a couple, and not as parents (even for just an hour or two).

So when little Aria was having an afternoon nap, this mama decided to try out the newest makeup goodies she got. Most of these products were bought at Ulta Las Vegas. I just love their store! So much to choose from in every category from skin care to makeup to hair products. Their prices are not at all bad too. You definitely get great quality makeup. I love shopping during sales though so most of these were bought like weeks before and some were given to me as gifts.

Okay so first of all, this isn’t a tutorial. I don’t think I’m qualified to give you one. Lol. This is basically a list of products I used to construct the Date Night Look Makeover. Here we go!

1. L’Oréal Paris Micellar Cleansing Water

I know most micellar water are used for removing makeup. But it’s also very good at removing dirt and oil from your face so I like to use it before putting on anything.

2. Innisfree Intensive Hydrating Serum

Just like I mentioned in my Skin Care Routine post, I love using this serum for moisturizing. So I make sure to apply it before putting on foundation.

3. NYX Soft Focus Primer

I love this primer. It really makes my makeup last all throughout the day and it has this blurry effect on my face.

Con: I’ve read some reviews though that it the quantity is not that good. For some, just after 2 weeks of using it, it’s already done. I don’t use this that much so I wouldn’t know. But for those who use primers all the time, definitely take this into consideration.

4. No. 7 Foundation

Omg I just love this foundation so much. It’s very affordable and it lasts so long. I’ve used it for months now and it hasn’t dried up. I love how it doesn’t feel cake-y at all. It blends so we’ll with my skin.

Con: It has a slight sticky feeling right after you apply it. It kinda rubs off when you put too much (so I guess be careful when wearing white). Also, I read some reviews about how it doesn’t have much proper variety of color tones available. Definitely check first if the color fits your skin tone.

5. Innisfree Matte Full Cover Concealer

The thing I like about this concealer is that you don’t need to put a lot. Just a few drops and it does the job. It blends really well too.

6. Ardell Brow Defining Kit

Okay yes. I know there are a lot of better brow brands out there. But this brow kit definitely works for me, especially as a beginner. And it’s so affordable! Besides, I don’t do well with pomades or gels. So for me, powdered ones are what works. And honestly, as long as you have a really nice brush, then you can still get really nice, defined brows.

Con: It doesn’t stay that long. If you rub it, it’s basically gone. Although I found that when you apply darkly, it helps. Like I said, I use my own brush since the one that comes with it is kinda flimsy.

7. Soap & Glory The Perfect Ten Eyeshadow Pallette

This was a gift from my mother-in-law last Mother’s Day! This pallete actually made me.want to try it out and make this makeup blog post. I don’t usually use eyeshadows since I rarely have a need for it. I love the colors that they have.

Con: It’s not as bright when you put it on. You kinda have to apply more than twice to get a nice color. The brush that it comes with doesn’t do the job. It might be better to use your own brush for this one.

8. Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

I think this is my favorite from all the makeup products I have. I’ve always been a fan of this brand. This was a gift from hubby during our Anniversary, along with a makeup organizer. And I love that he got the powdered kit cause I really don’t know how to use the cream ones. I’m still learning. So this is great for beginners! I love how you can easily blend it.

9. NYX Matte Lip Cream Lisbon + Copenhagen

I got the full set of lip cream from NYX. I got it for $30 at Marshall’s. What a great find! So anyways, I used Lisbon first then added Copenhagen for the middle. I’m in love with anything matte basically. It’s nice and smooth and you don’t feel like there’s something greasy on your lips.

And there you go! Not too bad for a first timer, I think. Lol.

So what do you guys think? Leave a comment!

Much love,

-Mina 💕

PS: We did go out to eat out and watched a movie. But still with little Aria. Lol.
